Description
There's Always Next Time (OHC383)

I want to upload some of my old OHC entries to this site, particularly the ones from 2016, where pretty much every entry I made from that time was done in PxTone.

So via random.org, this was an entry I did for One Hour Compo 383, back in February 2016. At that time, I was still exploring the PEPOfont pack and almost everything I composed in PxTone was with that instrument set. I wanted to make a calming piece, because I got this sense of being at ease from the pictures that were shown at the time. I think I might have been disappointed with my piece, so I tried to give it a title that was like "welp I messed up, but there's always going to be another compo next time". In retrospect, I think it did kind of go with the pictures, in the sense that there were what I assume to be fishers in at least one of them, so the connection could have been like "Your catch might not have been successful this time around, but there's always going to be next time." :P

I also remember struggling a lot with what I was going to use for the lead, and ended up settling on one of PEPOfont's steel guitars. It's a great sound that can work for more laid back pieces while still having enough substance of its own to carry a melody.
